Nine years ago, National Ballet of China went on a month-long tour to Brazil for the first time, and staged eighteen wonderful ballet performances, which blazed the trail of cultural and artistic exchanges between China and Brazil in the form of commercial performances. It also opened the door for Brazilian audiences to understand the art of Chinese ballet. The enthusiastic response of the Brazilian audience to the artists from the Ballet of China seemed to be vividly remembered.
This year (in the wee hours of May 19th, 2019 of local time), more than 100 artists from the National Ballet of China, led by Wang Quanxing, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Company, arrived in Brasilia, and once again began a month-long tour in Brazil. On the occasion of celebrating 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil in 2019, and right before the BRICS leaders' Summit, the visit by National Ballet of China not only conveyed sincere friendship to the Brazilian, but also built bridges and ties for the cultural and artistic exchanges between the two countries.
On May 20, artists from National Ballet of China began the tour with "Ballet Gala" in the Ulysses Cultural Center Grand Theater in Brasilia. The reunion after nine years has aroused the enthusiasm of the Brazilian audience and those who loved art have been looking forward to performances by the Ballet of China. In order to live up to the expectations of the Brazilian, after setting foot on Brasilia, regardless of the 11-hour jet lag, all artists were prepared for the performance as soon as dawn. They strove to perform with the most powerful performance strength and the most perfect artistic effect of Chinese ballet on the stage of Brazil, highlighting Chinese characteristics.
