From February 13thto 16th, 2019, National Ballet of China was invited to stage fiveperformances of the Chinese original ballet Raise the Red Lantern at TheJohn F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. On theoccasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomaticrelations between China and the United States in 2019, National Ballet of Chinaplays as an ambassador for 'going out' of Chinese culture. Under the support ofthe 'Happy Spring Festival' project of the Chinese Embassy in the United Statesand the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the ballet is staged at The John F.Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts during the Chinese Spring Festival,which not only conveyed the joy and blessings of the Chinese Lunar New Year tothe American audience, but also is an important step for National Ballet ofChina to tell the world about the Chinese story and promote the friendlyexchanges between China and the United States.
