On November 28th and 29th, at Beijing Tianqiao Theatre, on the stage of Performing Season to Celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of National Ballet of China, the Chinese ballet Raise the Red Lantern was presented as the second show to a large audience in Beijing.
Raise the Red Lantern is a Chinese ballet created by the National Ballet of China in the new century. On the stage, the beautiful ballet and traditional Chinese cultural elements such as Peking opera, shadow puppets and wushu are ingeniously integrated. The brilliant color and visual effects are refreshing. Led by Prima Ballerina Zhang Jian and the outstanding dancer, Zhang Xi, the principal dancers Zhan Xinlu and Zheng Yu respectively, together with the exquisite performance of the artists of the National Ballet of China, the two performances of Raise the Red Lantern won prolonged applause and acclaim from the audience.
