During January 5th to 8th, 2020, following the successful holding of two performances in Dongchuan District, Kunming, led by Yang Xiong, Deputy Party Secretary of the National Ballet of China, and Mu Zongshun, member of the Party Committee and Director of the NBC Symphony Orchestra, the dancers team of National Ballet of China came to Jiangcheng and Gongshan County, Pu'er City. In Diubao Culture Square of Jiangcheng County, Siyuan Experimental School and Gongshan Hall, the artists gave wonderful public welfare performances for thousands of people there.

 

In the rehearsal hall of the local cultural troupe, in the open square, in the multi-functional hall of the school, and on the stage of Gongshan Hall, the young artistic emissaries were full of enthusiasm again and again and brought the most beautiful baller performance and sincere greetings to the local people.

 

Walking into Jiangcheng County

 

Jiang Cheng Hani and Yi Autonomous County is located in the east of Pu'er City, Yunnan Province, surrounded by three rivers: Lixian River, Manlao River and Mengye River. It is the only county in China bordering Laos and Vietnam. The dancers team of National Ballet of China drove from Kunming for more than 10 hours, traveling nearly 600 kilometers to Jiangcheng County. On the afternoon of January 5th, the artists came to the local cultural troupe to make cordial communications with the dancers there. 

Performers of National Ballet of China gave the soft dance shoes as gifts to the dancers of the local cultural troupe.

On the evening of January 5th, the performance was held in Diubao Culture Square of Jiangcheng County. Hundreds of local people gathered around the stage to enjoy the graceful ballet performance.

 

The moisty made the audience comfortable, but brought some troubles to the performance. Too much water vapor condensed into water drops on the floor glue, making the stage very slippery. The staff of the stage production department dried the floor glue every time before each performance, and the dancers also have to finish their dance movements carefully.

In the early morning of January 6th, the dancers team of National Ballet of China arrived at Siyuan Experimental School in Jiangcheng County.

 

There was no barre in the multi-functional hall of the school, so the dancers used the tables, chairs and walls to complete the warm-up exercise.

 

Before the performance, the dancers team of National Ballet of China donated to the school the commemorative album of artists of National Ballet of China and picture books of The Nutcracker（Chinese Version）, The Nine-Colored Deer, The Crane Calling and so on.

 

Teacher Liu Qi explained ballet knowledge.

 

Wang Xue'er and Wang Junteng showed the basic ballet movements.

 

Children learned ballet hand positions.

Walk into Gongshan County

 

After nearly 7 hours driving along the most beautiful road of Nujiang River, which winds hundreds of kilometers, another dancers team of National Ballet of China arrived at Gongshan Derung and Nu Autonomous County, the pearl of the three rivers. National Ballet of China came to Gongshan with ballet performance as New Year gift to the local people. This is also the first close contact between the villagers in the mountains and ballet.

After Yu Bo explained the profound ballet knowledge in simple language and the ballet movements display by the dancers of NBC, the wonderful ballet performance started in the eager expectation of the audience. When Four Little Swans, Spanish Dance, Pas de Quatre, On the Way, Swan, The Soldiers and Civilians are of One Family and other ballet works were staged one by one, the audience was ecstatic, and warm applause came ceaselessly.
