From May 17 to 21, 2023, National Ballet of China will once again stage the classic ballet The Little Mermaid by the world-renowned choreographer John Neumeier at Beijing Tianqiao Theater.

The cast of The Little Mermaid is quite distinctive, with Wang Qimin, Ma Xiaodong, Qiu Yunting, Wang Ye, Xu Yan, Fang Mengying, Sun Ruichen, Wu Sicong, Chen Zhuming, Wang Jiyu and Zhou Zhaohui will play the leading roles of "the Little Mermaid", "Edvard/ the Prince", "Henriette/ the Princess", "Sea Witch" and "the Poet". Surprisingly, a brand-new cast of "the Little Mermaid" and "Prince" by Zhan Xinlu and Li Wentao, the principal dancers of NBC, will acting as the leading roles in the ballet for the first time. National Ballet of China Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by Liu Ju, the Principal Conductor, and Fan Ni, the Guest Conductor.
