On September 20 (local time), upon the sincere invitation of the Bangkok’s 27th International Festival of Dance & Music, the National Ballet of China embarked on its first tour in Thailand with the original ballet A Dream of Red Mansions to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand.
Following the successful performances, Zhang Jianwei, the Chinese Ambassador to Thailand, extended his congratulations to all the cast and crew.
Mr. Uberoi, Chairman of the Bangkok’s International Festival of Dance & Music, also expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Zhang Jianwei, the staff of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, and all the artists of the National Ballet of China.
During the tour in Thailand, Director Zhu Yan, Prima Ballerinas Qiu Yunting and Xu Yan, as well as Principal Dancers Fang Mengying and Chen Zhuming, were interviewed by over ten mainstream media from China and Thailand, including Xinhua News Agency, China News Service, and National Broadcasting Service of Thailand (NBT).
Tong Ruirui, Chief Choreographer of A Dream of Red Mansions, along with the rehearsal team, ensured the high-quality presentation of the performances.
Premier Danceur Li Wentao conducted an engaging Ballet Master Class for local dance enthusiasts.
Looking ahead, we hope to bring the unique charm of Chinese ballet to more audiences in Southeast Asia, adding vivid and warm artistic chapters to the friendly relations between China and Thailand!
