From October 1 to 2, the National Ballet of China’s original ballet The Peony Pavilion was staged at the CDHT-CPAA Grand Theatre. As the first stop of its National Day tour following a carefully restaged revival after an 18-year hiatus, this Chengdu engagement was not only a renewed presentation of a classic, but also a heartfelt tribute to the nation’s birthday through Chinese-style ballet.

After the first performance, the leading cast met the audience at an autograph session, posing for photos and interacting with them.

Next, we will take the stage at the Shaanxi Performing Arts Center. We hope to bring an immersive experience of the immense charm of traditional Chinese culture and the unique artistic expression of contemporary Chinese ballet to more audiences.
