Wang Xiaoya learned ballet from the Chinese dance educator Professor Qu Hao. She joined the National Ballet of China in 2005, and has danced the leading roles in many ballets such as Swan Lake, Le Corsaire, Giselle, Sylvia, Don Quixote and Carmen, and danced “Qionghua” in the ballet The Red Detachment of Women. In 2015, she joined the School of NBC, and participated in the choreography of the fairy tale ballet The Nine-Colored Deer. She played "The Queen" and performed with the students of the School. In July, 2015, she studied the courses of classical ballet teaching system of Vaganova in St. Petersburg, Russia.
In 2019, she served as the choreographer of the second chapter Beautiful Land at the opening ceremony of the International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 Beijing China. In 2022, she was selected to participated in the “order-based” talent aid project for Xinjiang of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and danced in the premiere of the large-scale cultural performance “Xinjiang Is A Good Place”. She has been in charge of basic ballet courses, classical ballet teaching methods courses and repertoire rehearsals for dancers from Song and Dance Troupe of Xinjiang Art Theater, Opera Troupe of Xinjiang Art Theater, Muqam Art Troupe of Xinjiang Art Theater, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture Art Theater and Tarim Song and Dance Troupe in Aksu area. In 2023, at the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, she served as the choreographer and director of the program “The Misty Rain of Jiangnan in China” in the First Chapter “Elegant Charm of Chinese Style”. In the same year, she served as the choreographer and instructor of the Shenyang Branch in the 2024 CCTV’s Spring Festival Gala.
