Graduated from Beijing Dance Academy in 2000, Lu Na joined the National Ballet of China in the same year. As the Principal Dancer, she has performed the principal roles in The Red Detachment of Women, The Peony Pavilion and Songs and Dances of the Earth and has danced in Swan Lake, The Nutcracker (Chinese Version), LaSylphide, Giselle, The Fountain of Bakhchisarai, Sylvia, Don Quixote, LeCorsaire The Yellow River, The Crane Calling, The Light of Heart as well as Roland Petit's Carmen, Le Jeune Homme et La Mort, Pink Floyd Ballet and La Chauve-souris, John Cranko's Romeo and Juliet and Onegin, John Neumeier's The Little Mermaid, Natalia Makarova's La Bayadère, William Forsythe's In the Middle,Somewhat Elevated, Uwe Scholz's Symphony No.7, Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No.3 and Balanchine's Serenade, Who Cares, Theme and Variation, Four Temperaments, etc. She also played major roles in ballet works as Pas de Quatre, Le Sacre du Printemps, The New-Year Sacrifice, Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai, Kazimir'sColors, Al'Heuer Qu'il Est, Close Your Eyes When It's Getting Dark, Hamlet and Xianglian, the Competing Lotus.

In 2014, she has starred in the excerpts from The Red Detachment of Women on Spring Festival Gala, and in Sleepless Tonight in the Variety Show on the Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Hong Kong's Return to the Motherland on June 30, 2017. She danced the leading role in Dunhuang Flying Apsaras in the 2019 CCTV Spring Festival Galal.
